Appendix H : Directly Related Airport Uses

The following list contains examples of uses which are, or could potentially be, directly airport-related. To be acceptable in principle, applicants will have to demonstrate that the proposal would have strong and direct functional links to the airport, and a clear locational requirement to be on-airport in order to operate. The list is not exhaustive and other uses could be acceptable provided these two tests are met.

• Hotel and conference facilities
• Vehicle services: e.g. car hire, taxi facilities
• Passenger facilities: e.g. banking and money exchange, retail, catering
• Public transport facilities
• Administration accommodation for airline operators, handling agents and tour operators
• Air freight forwarding/handling, insurance and customs brokers, cargo or bonded warehouses
• Airport staff recreation facilities
• Animal hostels
• Travel agencies
• Aircraft and parts sales
• Aviation component manufacture/repair
• Parcel/mail handling and sorting
